How we score software

The BSR score

Every product gets four subscores from 0 to 10. The BSR score is their weighted average on a 100-point scale.

Where the subscores come from

• Hands-on testing. Our team sets up and uses every product before it is scored.
• Verified user reviews. Only reviews from people who prove they use the product count, and only those from the last 24 months.

What vendors can and cannot buy

Vendors can claim a free profile, add screenshots and pricing, and buy clearly labeled sponsored placements that sit outside the numbered ranking. They cannot change a score, a rank, a pro or a con.

Referral fees

When you click "Visit website" we may earn a referral fee from the vendor. It never affects how a product is scored or ranked.
