By using this site you agree to these terms. They're written to be read, not skimmed, so they're short.
Using the site
You may use Best Software Reviewed to research, compare and review software for personal or business purposes. You may not scrape the site at scale, resell its content, interfere with its operation, post anything unlawful, or try to manipulate scores, rankings, reviews or helpful votes. We can suspend access for anyone who does.
Our content
Scores, rankings, category guides, comparisons and editorial text are ours and protected by copyright. You may quote short excerpts with a link back to the page. You may not republish full pages, rankings or feature tables, or present our scores as endorsements of your product without written permission. Product names and logos belong to their owners; their appearance here is for identification and does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
Your reviews
When you submit a review you confirm that it reflects your own experience with the product, that you weren't paid or otherwise incentivized to write it, and that you aren't an employee, contractor, investor or competitor of the vendor. You keep ownership of what you write and grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, edit for length or clarity, translate and display it on this site and in our materials, with or without your role and industry attached. We never publish your name or email.
We may decline to publish, or remove, any review for any reason, including when it fails verification, breaks the review guidelines or appears to be inauthentic. Decisions on verification are final.
Vendors
Claiming a profile, requesting a listing or buying a placement is governed by these terms plus any written order we agree with you. A placement buys visibility, labeled as sponsored, in a slot outside the numbered ranking. It does not buy a score, a rank, a pro, a con, the removal of a review or any editorial change. We can end a placement and refund the unused portion if a vendor attempts to influence editorial content, submits or solicits fake reviews, or misrepresents its product.
Links and referrals
"Visit website" links go to vendor sites. We may receive a referral fee when you click or buy. The advertising disclosure explains how that works and why it never affects a score. Vendor sites have their own terms and privacy policies.
No warranty
We work hard to be accurate, but software changes constantly and vendors change prices without telling us. The site is provided "as is". Scores and rankings are opinions based on our testing and verified reviews at the time of writing. They are not a guarantee that a product will work for you. Confirm pricing, features and terms with the vendor before you buy.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Best Software Reviewed and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the site or of any software you choose based on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Ohio. If a provision is unenforceable the rest stays in effect. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
