Fusion review
Bottom line
Fusion is a therapy-specific EHR that handles scheduling, documentation, client engagement, and insurance billing for speech, physical, and occupational therapists. Its clearest strength is the combination of free payer credentialing and integrated claim checks on Advanced and Premier. The main cost to watch is that Fusion has no free plan, and usage fees for faxing, eligibility checks, and text reminders add up beyond plan allowances. Solo and multi-clinician therapy practices that bill insurance and want billing support in the same system should consider Fusion first.
What is Fusion?
Fusion is a web-based electronic health record and practice management platform from Ensora Health, built for speech-language pathology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy practices. It combines scheduling, clinical documentation, billing, and client communication in one system, so therapists do not have to run their calendars, notes, and claims in separate tools. The platform supports pediatric, adult, and geriatric caseloads.
Day to day, front desk staff use the scheduler to book appointments, color-code provider availability, and drag appointments to new times, while a waitlist fills last-minute openings. Therapists write progress and SOAP notes from customizable templates and track client goals with visual progress charts. Clients use a portal for appointments, intake forms, exercises, and payments, and automated email reminders help reduce no-shows. Occupational therapists can document with mobile-friendly access on-site or in the field.
Fusion has four plans. Foundation costs $25 per month for one solo user and includes documentation, scheduling, email reminders, and manual billing. Essentials costs $99 per month for solo providers who bill insurance and adds a client portal and payer billing tools. Advanced starts at $159 per month for the first user with $45 per additional user, and Premier starts at $229 for the first user with $75 per additional user and offers unlimited usage. More than 23,000 therapists use Fusion, and it serves practices of all sizes.
What sets Fusion apart is the billing and enrollment layer built into the software. Advanced and Premier include free payer credentialing support, handled by a specialist team, for up to two or three payers per clinician. Integrated billing checks claims for errors before submission. Ensai Session Assistant, an optional add-on, records sessions and drafts notes for speech, physical, and occupational therapy. For practices that want enrollment, claims, and clinical notes in one system, this bundling reduces the number of vendors to manage.
