Bottom line

Fresha is a booking, calendar and payments platform built for beauty, wellness and personal service businesses. Its clearest strength is the combination of online booking, reminders and a consumer marketplace in one product. The main cost to watch is the 20% commission on new clients found through the marketplace, along with card processing fees and per-message charges beyond the included allowance. Solo practitioners and small teams who want online bookings and a free trial before committing should consider it.

Choose Fresha ifsolo practitioners taking online bookings, or salons, barbershops and spas with several staff.
Look elsewhere ifbusinesses that want a free plan with no time limit, or teams that need a single tool for non-service businesses.

What is Fresha?

Fresha is a booking and business management platform for salons, barbershops, spas, medspas, massage therapists, fitness studios and pet groomers. It gives service businesses an online booking page, a shared calendar and client records in one place, so clients can book appointments without calling around. The product also includes a consumer app where clients search for nearby providers and book services.

Day to day, staff work from a calendar that shows each bookable team member, with multiple calendar columns on the Team plan. Clients receive confirmations and reminders by text and email, and they can book, reschedule or cancel through the app or a direct booking link. Consultation forms, client profiles and treatment packages are stored with each client record. Payments can be taken online, in person, or by manually entering card details, and the business can set no-show and cancellation fees.

Fresha suits solo practitioners, small salons and mid-size businesses, and its enterprise tier targets businesses with more than 20 team members. The Independent plan costs $19.95 per month for one bookable person, while the Team plan costs $14.95 per team member per month. Custom enterprise rates are available on request. A 7-day trial is offered without a credit card, and there is no long-term contract.

What sets Fresha apart is its built-in marketplace. New clients who find a business through the Fresha marketplace incur a one-time commission of 20% with a $6 minimum, while returning clients carry no fee. Bookings that come through a business's own booking link, Instagram or Facebook carry no commission, so the marketplace is an optional channel for finding new customers rather than a required part of the setup.
