Bottom line

Showpass is a ticketing and event management platform that handles ticket sales, mobile check-in, seating, and reporting in one system. Its clearest strength is a fee model that lets organizers pass fees to buyers, absorb them, or split them, with no monthly charge. The main cost to watch is the per-item fee, plus a separate card processing fee, and the fact that seating, waitlists, memberships, and group sales sit on higher tiers. Event organizers who sell paid tickets and want flexible fee handling should consider it, while organizers who need a fixed published price for their largest tier should request a quote first.

What is Showpass?

Showpass is an online ticketing and event management platform for organizers who sell tickets to concerts, festivals, conventions, sports games, fairs, and performing arts shows. It covers the core work of selling tickets on an event page, managing attendees, checking guests in at the door, and reviewing sales after the event. Organizers who would otherwise juggle a ticket seller, a spreadsheet, and a separate check-in tool can run those steps in one web-based system.

Day to day, an organizer builds a branded event page, sets up ticket types and add-ons, and decides how service and processing fees are handled. Buyers can purchase through the event page or the Showpass app for iOS and Android, and organizers can embed ticket sales on their own website. On event day, staff check guests in by scanning barcodes and QR codes on any smartphone, with no special equipment required. Card and tap payments can also be taken at the door through a Square integration. Reports are available in real time, so sales trends and attendance can be followed while the event is still running.

Showpass serves freelancers, small businesses, mid-size businesses, and enterprises. Pricing has three tiers. Essential costs 1% plus $0.59 per redeemable item, Professional costs 2.5% plus $1.69 per redeemable item, and Premium uses custom pricing for organizations with complex event needs. Credit card transactions carry a separate fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 CAD per paid item, and there are no monthly fees. Free events can be hosted at no cost, and organizers can build events before they sell a paid ticket.

What sets Showpass apart is its fee model and its seating and group tools. Organizers choose whether buyers see the fees, can pass them on in part or in full, or absorb them entirely, which keeps the fee structure visible to the organizer at every step. The platform includes assigned seating maps, timed entries, waitlists, season ticketing, memberships, and a group sales portal, with several of these reserved for the Professional and Premium tiers. Organizers who need group sales distribution, sponsor pages, or on-site hardware will find those options on the higher plans.
