WebTitan review
Bottom line
WebTitan is a cloud DNS filter that stops access to malicious and unwanted sites at the domain lookup stage, managed from one console. Its clearest strength is identity-based policy, since Azure AD groups can drive filtering for users on any device or network. The main cost to watch is pricing, which is quoted rather than published, and there is no free plan beyond the trial. IT teams and managed service providers that already run Microsoft identity or need multi-client control should shortlist it.
What is WebTitan?
WebTitan is a cloud DNS filtering service from TitanHQ that blocks access to harmful domains at the moment a user, browser or device tries to reach them. It targets phishing links, malware sites and unwanted web content by stopping the connection before a page loads. It is built for IT teams and managed service providers who need web protection without installing hardware.
Day to day, administrators set URL filtering policies by network, group, user or device. They can block or allow specific URLs or any of 53 predefined website categories, including adult, gambling and hate sites. Time-of-click checks cover links in phishing emails, and URL analysis covers full paths. Devices connect through an on-premises relay or a lightweight agent that can be pushed out through an RMM tool. Dashboards and reports show web traffic, uptime and user activity.
WebTitan serves freelancers, small businesses, mid-size businesses and enterprises. Managed service providers run it across client accounts, enforce two-factor authentication, and reset two-factor settings for both MSP and customer administrators. Pricing is not published as a set of plans. Buyers request a quote by user count in bands of 0-50, 50-500, 500-3000 and 3000+. The product lists a starting price of $0.4 per user per month and offers a free trial, but it has no free plan.
What sets WebTitan apart is identity-based policy. Its Azure AD integration uses an Azure AD enterprise app to find users from sign-ins and applies DNS policies by directory user or group, regardless of device or location. Remote management and monitoring run through an API. TitanHQ also positions WebTitan as a replacement for Cisco Umbrella and publishes migration guidance for existing customers. The product now sits within CyberSentriq, the platform that combines TitanHQ's email and web security with Redstor's backup technology.
