Bottom line

AscendTMS is a browser-based TMS that covers load management, dispatch, driver tracking, documents, and billing for brokers, carriers, and shippers. Its clearest strength is pricing: Basic includes a 30-day free trial, setup, support, and training are free, and there are no per-driver, per-truck, or per-load charges. The main cost to watch is that EDI, order management, shipper leads, and electronic signatures are only on the $149 PRO plan, and load board access requires a separate DAT or Truckstop.com subscription. Choose it if you want a full TMS priced per user and are ready to move to PRO for the advanced workflows.

Choose AscendTMS iffreight brokers and 3PLs building loads from multiple orders, or asset-based carriers managing dispatch and drivers.
Look elsewhere ifbuyers who need EDI or order management on a lower-priced plan, or teams that want load board access without a separate DAT or Truckstop subscription.

What is AscendTMS?

AscendTMS is a web-based transportation management system from InMotion Global, Inc. It handles the daily work of moving freight, including load entry, shipment price calculation, carrier and driver management, dispatch, billing, and shipment tracking. Freight brokers, asset-based carriers, 3PLs, and shippers use it to run loads from one system instead of combining spreadsheets, load board tools, and separate accounting software. Nothing needs to be installed because the system runs in a web browser.

Dispatchers create loads, set rates, and assign carriers and drivers from the load management screen. From that same screen, a load can be posted to up to 53 load boards at once, and postings can be updated or removed. Drivers are tracked through a text message that returns their GPS location and shows it on a map inside the system, and drivers reply with load status by pressing one button, so no driver app is needed. Scanned paperwork and proof of delivery documents texted from the road are attached to the correct load. When paperwork is in order, the load can be sent for payment through the factoring integration with Triumph Business Capital.

Companies of all sizes use the platform, from freelancers and small businesses to mid-size companies and enterprises. Pricing is per user per month: Basic at $69, Premium at $119, and PRO at $149. Basic includes a 30-day free trial, and no contracts or credit card are required to start. Setup, support, and training are free, and there are no charges for drivers, trucks, or loads. PRO adds shipper leads, outbound EDI load tenders, order management, and electronic signatures, and larger teams can request enterprise pricing by phone.

What sets AscendTMS apart is its bundled services and pricing structure. No setup, license, support, or training fees apply, and Basic and Premium have no user limit, so adding team members does not change the structure of the bill. PRO users receive ten new shipper leads each week per user, with shipper profiles and contact details. The system is natively connected to the DAT Convoy digital freight exchange and to the TriumphPay digital payments network, and more than 140 third-party integrations come preinstalled.
