Envoy review
Bottom line
Envoy is a visitor management system that has grown into a full workplace platform covering check-in, space booking, deliveries, and emergency communications. Its clearest strength is the audit-ready visitor record, backed by blocklist screening, badge controls, and integrations with access control and identity systems. The main cost to watch is the $362 per location monthly Premium price, plus the platform fee and per-user charges for add-on modules, with Enterprise pricing available only on request. It suits multi-site enterprises and regulated employers that need one system for visitors, spaces, and emergency response.
What is Envoy?
Envoy is a workplace management platform that brings visitor check-in, room and desk booking, mailroom deliveries, digital signage, and emergency response into one system. It is built for offices, manufacturing sites, labs, and data centers that need to run secure, compliant operations across several locations without juggling separate tools and paper logs. Its visitor product covers pre-registration, screening, and secure check-in with audit-ready records.
Day to day, front desk staff and hosts use the dashboard and iPad kiosk to sign in visitors, notify hosts by email, SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or the Envoy mobile app, and print name badges, including expiring badges for extra security. Employees reserve rooms, desks, and parking through the mobile app, calendar invites, or a live map. Mailroom teams log packages, which triggers automated notifications and secure pickup verification. Administrators set sign-in flows for each visitor type and attach legal documents that visitors sign digitally.
Envoy serves small businesses, mid-size companies, and enterprises. Its Basic visitor plan is free and includes host notifications and 100 entries per month. The Premium plan costs $362 per location per month, billed annually, and adds customized branding, a virtual front desk, badge printing, visitor analytics, and SSO with directory integrations. Enterprise pricing is custom and adds blocklist scanning, access control integrations, and 500 ID scans per year. Every product runs on a platform layer with a flat annual fee, and the Envoy Response emergency module is priced at $2 per user per month on top of that.
What sets Envoy apart is its focus on regulated work. The company states support for ITAR, CMMC, EAR, OFAC, and C-TPAT, and it pairs visitor records with threat detection that routes alerts by radius to executives and remote employees. It connects with access control systems such as Openpath, Brivo Access, and Kisi, identity providers such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID, and more than 100 integrations through an open API. Many visitor tools stop at the front desk. Envoy extends the same records into space booking, deliveries, and emergency communications.
