Bottom line

Front is a shared inbox and ticketing platform that adds AI agents and cross-team handoffs to customer conversations. Its clearest strength is the ability to run a single customer thread across teams, systems, and agents with full history and clear ownership. The main cost to watch is the stack of add-ons, since Autopilot, Copilot on Starter and Professional, and native WhatsApp are all billed separately. It fits B2B support and operations teams with multi-step customer work, while small teams with simple single-channel needs may find the Starter tier sufficient.

Choose Front ifb2B support teams handling multi-step requests, or operations and account management teams sharing customer context.
Look elsewhere ifsolo users who need only a basic free helpdesk, or teams with simple single-channel support and no integrations.

What is Front?

Front is a customer operations platform that puts email, chat, SMS, and WhatsApp conversations into shared inboxes where support, sales, operations, and AI agents work on the same customer requests. It targets the dropped handoffs and lost context that appear when complex B2B work spreads across separate inboxes and tools. The product is built for requests that involve several people, not just single-agent ticket queues.

Day to day, incoming messages land in shared inboxes where teammates can be assigned conversations, tag them, leave internal comments, and share drafts. Rules and macros tag, route, and respond automatically, and saved views track conversations by inbox, tag, or assignee. Users can @mention teammates or AI agents on an existing thread. Copilot drafts replies, summarizes conversations, and translates messages. Connected systems such as CRMs and project tools bring account details and order status into the conversation, and a conversation can become a tracked Jira or Asana item without leaving Front.

Front serves freelancers, small businesses, mid-size businesses, and enterprises, and it reports more than 9,300 customers. Pricing is per seat per month and billed annually: Starter at $25, Professional at $65, and Enterprise at $105. A 14-day free trial requires no credit card and includes Professional features. Autopilot, Copilot on lower tiers, and native WhatsApp are sold as add-ons.

What sets Front apart is its focus on coordination among multiple teams and AI agents working in one workspace. Autopilot lets teams build custom AI agents that follow policies and act across connected systems, and agents built on outside platforms can join conversations as well. Smart QA scores every interaction instead of a sample, which lets managers see where both people and agents need improvement.
