GanttPRO review
Bottom line
GanttPRO is a Gantt-first project planner that goes beyond task lists into scheduling, workload and cost. Its clearest strength is auto-recalculating schedules with critical path and baseline tracking. The main cost is that there is no free plan, the trial is 14 days, and SAML single sign-on is limited to the Enterprise tier. Project managers who need schedule control and resource visibility for small to mid-size teams should consider it first.
What is GanttPRO?
GanttPRO is an online Gantt chart and project planning tool built by DPM Solutions, a company based in Kraków, Poland, that started developing it in 2014. It replaces the spreadsheets many teams use to schedule work by showing tasks, dates, dependencies and milestones on one visual timeline. Teams use it to estimate project duration and to see which tasks control the completion date through critical path calculation.
Day to day, a project manager builds a plan by adding tasks, linking them with dependencies that can include lag or lead, and turning on Auto scheduling so dates recalculate when something shifts. The same plan can be viewed as a Gantt chart, grid, board, list or portfolio. Team members receive notifications, comment on tasks, attach files from the desktop or Google Drive, and log actual time against tasks. Owners and admins can build time reports that can be grouped, filtered and exported to Excel. Plans can also be shared through a private link.
Users include freelancers, small businesses, mid-size businesses and enterprises. Industry-specific demos cover construction, manufacturing, IT and software development, consulting, marketing, project management and healthcare. Pricing starts at $7 per user per month, and a 14-day free trial of premium features is available without a credit card. There is no permanent free plan. The paid tiers are Core, Business, Advanced and Enterprise, and the Core plan covers Gantt charts, a project calendar and unlimited virtual resources.
What sets GanttPRO apart is its emphasis on planning rather than task tracking alone. Resource tools cover labor, material and fixed-cost resources, with three workload calculation modes and personal calendars for team members and equipment. Baseline comparison and a full history of changes let teams see how a plan has moved away from its original schedule. Exports are available as PDF, PNG, XLSX and XML, including during the trial.
