Service Fusion review
Bottom line
Service Fusion is web-based dispatch, estimating, invoicing, and payment software built for trade contractors. Its clearest strength is that a job moves from estimate to scheduled visit to on-site payment inside one record, with QuickBooks sync and unlimited users on every plan. The main cost to watch is that GPS tracking, job costing, inventory, and eSign are extra on the Starter plan, and phone support runs on set Central Time business hours. Small and mid-size HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and similar service companies that want one system for the office and the trucks should consider it.
What is Service Fusion?
Service Fusion is field service management software for contractors and service companies that send technicians to customer sites. It covers the job from first contact to final payment, including scheduling and dispatch, estimates, job tracking, invoicing, and collections, in one web-based system. It addresses the patchwork of paper work orders, spreadsheets, and separate accounting tools that slows down small service businesses.
Day to day, the office builds a job or estimate, drags it onto the schedule, and assigns it to a technician. Technicians use the mobile app to view their schedule, accept or reject jobs, see customer information, create and close work orders, generate invoices, and accept payments on site. Customers can receive appointment reminders by email and SMS, and the office can track technician locations and job status. Estimates can include up to five options, and an approved estimate converts into an active work order with one click. Service agreements can be set up with billing frequency and terms, then billed automatically after the first invoice is paid.
Typical users are small and mid-size service businesses in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, garage door, locksmith, handyman, landscape, carpet cleaning, and other trades. Pricing has three tiers: Starter at $208 per month billed annually, Plus at $325, and Pro at $533. Every plan includes unlimited users, and plans run month-to-month without a contract. Annual billing carries a 15% discount, and the Starter plan's add-ons, such as GPS Fleet Tracking and Job Costing, are priced separately.
What sets Service Fusion apart from a basic scheduling or invoicing tool is that scheduling, estimating, payments, and QuickBooks sync share one customer and job record. GPS fleet tracking is available within the same platform and reports idle time, fuel level, distance driven, and driver behaviors such as sudden braking. Service Fusion Payments, powered by PaySimple, handles card payments on the web and in the field, and the ServiceCall.ai phone product is offered alongside the core software. The Pro plan adds an open API for businesses that need custom connections.
