Bottom line

Slido is a web-based audience interaction tool that combines live polls, Q&A, quizzes, word clouds and surveys in one session. Its clearest strength is that attendees join from any browser without logins or downloads, and a forever-free Basic plan lets teams start at no cost. The main cost to watch is that the paid tier starts at €15 per month and no free trial is offered, so plan limits need to be checked before committing. Remote and hybrid teams, trainers and event hosts who want more participation in meetings should pick it.

What is Slido?

Slido is an audience interaction tool that lets presenters run live polls, Q&A, quizzes, word clouds, brainstorming sessions and surveys during meetings, webinars and events. It addresses a common problem with meetings: most attendees listen without contributing. Slido gives every participant a way to answer, ask and vote from their own device, and it is now part of Webex.

Hosts build a poll, quiz or Q&A session in the web interface and share a link with participants, who join without any logins or downloads. Attendees can submit questions and upvote the ones they want answered, either anonymously or with their names, and hosts can review questions before they appear. Results display live as charts or word clouds. Hosts can see how many people were engaged, export questions and voting results to Google Sheets, Excel or PDF, and use Slido Analytics to find the most popular topics. The tool also works inside PowerPoint, Google Slides, Microsoft Teams, Webex and Zoom, so presenters do not need to switch windows.

Remote teams, hybrid meetings, all-hands sessions, webinars, conferences and classrooms all use Slido. Zapier, for example, runs its weekly all-hands meetings with it. The product is offered in a forever-free Basic plan, and the paid tier starts at €15 per month. Annual, one-time and education plans are also available, and Slido for Enterprise adds SSO, user management and dedicated Success Managers. Typical customers range from freelancers and small businesses to large enterprises.

What sets Slido apart is the range of formats in one tool. Hosts can choose from five poll types, which are multiple choice, word cloud, rating, open text and ranking, and combine them with Q&A, quizzes and surveys in the same session. Surveys can run before, during or after a meeting, with the results analyzed in one place. Many tools handle polling or Q&A alone, while Slido covers both and pairs them with the meeting software people already use.
