Bottom line

Hive is a project management workspace that adds AI, proofing, time tracking, and optional CRM and finance to a single platform. Its clearest strength is the breadth of what sits in one tool, backed by SOC 2 certification and an AI assistant that works inside the workspace. The main cost to watch is that CRM and finance are separate per-seat add-ons, and SSO and advanced permission controls require the Enterprise plan with custom pricing. Marketing, agency, and PMO teams that want proofing and time tracking alongside their tasks should choose Hive.

Choose Hive ifmarketing and creative teams running proofing cycles, or agencies tracking client projects and billable hours.
Look elsewhere ifteams of more than 10 people that want to stay on a free plan, or buyers who need published pricing for Enterprise.

What is Hive?

Hive is a project and work management platform for teams that run projects across several tools. It brings projects, tasks, timelines, approvals, and reporting into one web workspace, with optional CRM and finance modules that connect to the same work. It is aimed at teams that lose track of status when updates are scattered across email, chat, and spreadsheets.

Day to day, teams organize work into projects and action cards, then view it as Kanban, Gantt, calendar, table, list, or timeline. Action cards hold comments, attachments, and tagged teammates, while Hive Notes provides a collaborative document that teams edit in real time before, during, and after meetings. AI Proofing lets reviewers mark up documents, video, and live pages, and Buzz, the built-in AI assistant, can flag brand, claim, and layout issues, draft email replies, and build projects or workflows from a plain-English description. Time tracked on action cards can be moved into timesheets.

Hive serves marketing teams, agencies, PMOs, education and nonprofit organizations, and sales and customer success groups. Pricing is per user. The Free plan costs nothing and supports up to 10 workspace members. Starter is $5 per user per month and Teams is $12 per user per month with unlimited workspace members. Enterprise is priced on request. A 14-day trial gives access to the full feature set on any plan, and no credit card is required to start.

What sets Hive apart from typical project tools is that it combines AI, work management, and client-facing functions in one workspace instead of offering AI as a separate chat layer. The company states that workspace data is never used to train AI models and that conversations with Buzz are not stored by third-party LLM providers. Hive also holds SOC 2 certification, its hosting is ISO 27001 accredited, and it connects to more than 1,000 tools.
